Heartsaver First Aid
The American Heart Association's Heartsaver First Aid course is an in classroom, video-based, and instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. In this course, students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.
This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who need a course completion card in first aid to meet a job or other requirement.
